What We Believe

History Of GRACE

       On May 21, 1986, a group of interested people gathered in a home in Eustis to explore the possibility of starting a new church in Eustis.  By June 1, 1986 arrangements had been made to rent the old Seventh Day Adventist building on Sundays when it was not in use.  They worshipped there for the next three years.  The new congregation was given the name “Grace Fellowship” until they formally constituted as a church, first opened it’s doors for membership on June 15, 1986, and received 43 people that day.

       Grace was formally accepted into the Lake County Baptist Association at its annual meeting on October 20, 1986.  The congregation voted on August 23, 1987 to purchase the present six acres on Highway 44.  The groundbreaking was held on May 15, 1988.  While the men of the church and the Southern Baptists’ Campers on Mission worked raising stud walls, hanging drywall and doing interior and exterior carpentry, the women of the church brought the food for workdays.  The first day in the new building, Celebration Sunday, was August 23, 1989.  Over one hundred people were in attendance that day.  The church has continued to grow and expand since that time and today is striving to meet the needs of those in and around the community.

Grace is a smaller,  theologically conservative church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and supportive of both international and home missions.

Our VISION is to be a loving group of people who cares for the spiritual needs of others by:

· Extending God's invitation to everyone to join God's family;

· Enjoying God's presence through worship and Bible study;

· Encouraging God's people to mature into missionaries for Christ;

· Experiencing God's power to overcome sin and obstacles to spiritual growth.

Our GOALS are:

· To provide a place of worship where people can meet with and experience God;

· To provide a covenant relationship for growing Christians where they can discover and utilize their spiritual gifts;

· To provide missions opportunities to serve Christ in the community, the country and around the world.

· To provide Christian education that results in responsible living.

Our BELIEFS:

· The Scriptures are verbally inspired by God and are inerrant.

· God is the only one true God, existing in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

· Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary.  He shed His blood on Calvary as a vicarious substitute, buried, rose again bodily, and ascended to the Father.

· The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity.  He convinces man of his sin and the judgment to come.  He baptizes the believer into the body of Christ at regeneration and confers spiritual gifts on believers for ministry.

· Salvation:  All who receive Jesus as Savior are born again by the Holy Spirit and become the children of God.  The Holy Spirit permanently indwells the believer and seals him in salvation for all eternity.

· The Local Church: Christ died to establish His church.  All believers gather on Sunday for public worship.  The church observes two ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper.  All believers should be baptized by immersion.  Only baptized believers should participate in the Lord's Supper.

· End Times: Jesus will rapture dead and living Christians before the tribulation period.  At the end of the seven year tribulation, Christ will visibly descend with the saints to establish His earthly millennial kingdom.
